Tooth Restorations

Tooth Restorations

Tooth restorations no longer need to be unsightly and obvious. Advancements in dentistry have enabled dentists to fix damaged teeth using composite tooth coloured material rather than using unattractive silver fillings. Our skilled dentists can repair any damage leaving your teeth looking as good as new.

Dental Fillings

The most common form of tooth restoration is a filling, used to fill a cavity in a tooth that can be causing pain and discomfort.

A filling is a fairly quick procedure where we firstly numb the area, clean out the tooth, remove any decay and fill the tooth with dental filling including silver amalgam or composite resin.

If the tooth if near the front of your mouth and visible when you speak or smile, we may recommend using a tooth-coloured material for the filling.

Options include∶

  • Composite resins (white filling): These are a newer material used for dental fillings and are preferred over amalgam fillings as they are the same colour as your teeth and do not expand and contract like metal fillings.
  • Glass ionomer: This material acts more like a sealant than the composite resins and is opaque.
  • Resin-modified glass ionomer: This is similar to the glass ionomer, but have an enamel colour to better match teeth, and is made to last longer.

We will discuss the options with you at your appointment.

A filling does not require any specialist care and is done in our dental practice in Mornington.

It was great customer service

The entire experience was straight forward from organizing the appointment to attending. Very clean practice with lots of natural light. I required an emergency appointment as my tooth was killing me. Thanks to Dr Harmeet who was very gentle and got rid off my pain. Now I can enjoy my coffee again.

I could not recommend Dr Harmeet more highly

I have been going to Harmeet for scale and clean for years. It prevents more serious dental issues and he bulk bills. I could not recommend him more highly.

Ian Fleming

I highly recommend this clinic

I have been attending this clinic for over 10 years and I have always found Dr. Harmeet so skilful in his dentistry. He always offers good advice for dental health maintenance and has stabilised what was, a mouthful of old deteriorating amalgam fillings AND he has never hurt me during any of the procedures he has done.
